Little Leverets is a beautiful unique childcare setting located in Market Deeping. We combine the best of both Childminding and Nursery practices together to create a home from home atmosphere. We provide high quality childcare and a fully equipped nurturing environment, allowing each child to have fun, grow and thrive, giving them the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential. Our home corner encourages role play and social interaction, expanding your child’s imagination, understanding of the world [UTW], personal, social, and emotional development [PSED]. The book corners are cosy and welcoming, containing a variety of books for your children to read alone or with a Little Leverets staff member, promoting literacy [LIT] and communication and language [C&L] skills.The mark making areas are fully equipped with a variety of resources for the children to express their creative side and become familiar with different media, developing their physical, [PHY] expressive, and creative skills [EAAD]. Little Leverets staff support your child in cooking and baking, expanding their knowledge of tools and equipment required for the process. Focusing on their mathematics, C&L, and PSED. Here at Little Leverets, staff love messy play nearly as much as the children do and will encourage the children to play freely and explore different messy play resources such as, ice, water, gloop, fake snow, bio gel balls and foam. We also use the ground floor of the house for our preschoolers to play and learn, without distraction, and engage in more adult-led activities to prepare them for school. We have a 6x4m lean to attached to the house meaning, outside play is never interrupted, whatever the weather! Our lunches are all homemade, and mainly vegetarian. Care is taken to ensure they are nutritious, balanced and salt free. After lunch, the children will have the opportunity to have some quiet time and relax. We provide sleep mats and blankets for our younger children, so they can snuggle up with their favourite soft toy or choose one of ours! We play calming and soothing music, and the children can gaze at the stars and sparkly lights on the ceiling.We have a wonderful large outdoor area which includes 3 separate play spaces for the children to explore, a ‘Secret Garden’ which contains a playhouse, sand pit, mud kitchens, climbing logs, construction vehicles, a messy tray and 3 guinea pigs, which roam freely! The ‘Main Garden’ includes climbing and balancing equipment, bikes, ride on toys, a large sand pit and trampoline. Promoting physical development. The children can also participate in a variety of outdoor group games. The ‘Preschool area’ has a science and music board, tuff trays, balancing beams, wood, drain pipes and a variety of garden games. We aim to build each child’s confidence, independence and to support their development, socially and emotionally, so they’re ready to embark on their journey at ‘big’ school. We promote partnership with parents in many ways. Our Parent notice board is filled with a variety of useful information. Parents also receive a ‘daily diary’ sheet, each day their child attends, and will be verbally updated on their child’s progress. Children will occasionally have ‘homework’ that links in with our learning experiences and the children’s next steps. Furthermore, we aim to support the individual needs of each child by completing learning journals and working with parents to achieve this. The children’s welfare is paramount, and we work following our health and safety and safeguarding policies and procedures.
